
Rialto Market
The Rialto Market was once the most important centre for commerce and trade for the Venetian Empire. The market is still important today. It is open mornings from Tuesday to Saturday. This is where most restaurants in Venice get their fresh fish and seafood.
Frari Church
The Frari Church was built in the 14th century by the Fransicans. It takes the shape of a Latin cross and has one of the tallest bell towers in Venice. A great example of Venetian Gothic architecture, the church also holds three important works of art, including Bellini's Madonna, Titian's Assumption, and Canova's funeral monument.
The Scuola Grande Di S.Rocco
The Scuola Grande di S. Rocco is a 16th Century Renaissance building where Classical Concerts are often held in the evenings. The building was dedicated to Saint Roch, protector of the sick and plague stricken people. It houses an impressive collection of works by Tintoretto, including eight paintings portraying scenes from the New Testament.
Campo San Polo
As one of the largest squares in Venice, Campo San Polo is a popular venue for many events, including events held during the Carnival and the Venice Film Festival. Historically, races, bullfights and masked carnival balls were held here.
